When Joanna and Jude faced a decade-long issue with their back door letting in rainwater, they reached out to Becher Construction for a door replacement and repair. The problem was traced to the corner where the door sill meets the jack stud of the framing. After removing the door, I discovered that water had been seeping in, causing the floor to rot. I carved out the rotted wood, reinforced the remaining wood with Abatron LiquidWood epoxy, and filled in the void with Abatron WoodEpox. The door was then flashed properly and installed. I was able to reuse the existing trim, both inside and outside, which meant they didn’t have to reinstall their mosquito screen. The door now looks great and was hung perfectly plumb.
